[Multi-stage]
Each stage of the product life cycle is taken into account in order to avoid the effect of communicating vessels (from the extraction of the raw material to the end of life, including manufacturing and various types of transport).
[Multi-criteria]
Between 12 and 16 impact indicators are evaluated, making it possible to quantify the effects of a product on air and water pollution, on the depletion of resources as well as on human health.
In measuring impact, it is essential to look beyond the LCA produced. Some actions that are difficult to quantify can in fact have a significant positive or negative impact. Also, we take into account specific criteria when measuring impact.
Learn moreRegulatory time and ongoing work on the deployment of environmental labelling are necessary in order toto find the best solution to inform consumers in a clear, reliable and transparent manner.
Once the regulatory work has borne fruit, Eco Impact:
1. Will support the government score for broad sector buy-in
2. Will allow all its customers to comply with the regulatory score from day one.
3. Will continue to support all stakeholders towards ever more eco-design
Pending the finalization of regulatory methodologies. Eco Impact is based on the most advanced and up-to-date French methodology available: the footprint database established by ADEME and comprising:
1. Up-to-date sectoral environmental assessment methodological standards (furniture, upholstered seats, bedding...).
2. The multi-criteria database (Base Impacts).
To calculate the impact of products, we have two main solutions: use specific data when available or semi-specific data (default data)
1. Specific data: This is a real value resulting from a direct measurement or from a calculation based on direct measurements. Some specific data are mandatory: Product category, weight, weight, dimensions and composition of the product with the weight of each component (at least, 95% of the weight of the product must be modelled).
2. Semi-specific data: This is a default value. These values, which are deliberately conservative, aim to encourage actors in the sector to substitute their own value in order to improve the results of environmental assessment. The conservative values thus proposed are not average values but rather higher values. For example, this includes the rate of falls, energy consumption or kilometers traveled.
Each product evaluation is valid for a period of two years.
